| BoysFC - Register your team NOW | updated February 3, 2010 |

Football Federation Victoria (FFV) is once again organising the Boys Football Cup (Boys FC) which will take place in Bendigo over the weekend of March 13 and 14, 2010. Boys FC will run as a two-day round robin tournament for boys aged between 10 and 15, with teams playing in a 7-a-side format which will run in each of the six age groups – under 11 through to under 16. With the tournament commencing in little more than a month before the start of the junior winter season, Boys FC is perfectly timed to kick start your Club’s 2010 pre-season activities. Why not bring your team or a group of friends together for a competitive but fun hit-out to get the ball rolling for the new season? The small-sided format is a great way to get everyone going again after a relaxing off-season! Team registrations for Boys FC cost $195 incl. GST, with teams able to register up to 10 players. There’s no need to pay in full now, to secure your spot you’re welcome to pay a deposit of $50. We’ll invoice your team for the balance in early February 2010. And… don’t forget to start booking your group’s accommodation. The best way to secure the best deals is through the Bendigo Visitor Information Centre. Visit them online at http://www.bendigotourism.com.au/ or phone 1800 813 153 for more information. For more information, please click here. Click here to register. |

| Happy New Year | updated January 14, 2010 |
An exciting new chapter for Central Victorian Football
Happy New Year to everyone who follows and participates in the various forms of football across Central Victoria. 2010 promises to be a very exciting year that will build on the landmark year that was 2009 and also capitalise on the manifold opportunities that will result in a World Cup year. In late November 2009 the first words in a new chapter in the rich history of football in our region were recorded. The members of the governing body voted to integrate our operations with our state body, Football Federation Victoria. By voting in favour of the integration proposal the members took a very bold and courageous step that will see BASL/FCV cease to exist as an incorporated body. Football Federation Victoria will assume responsibility for the management and administration of all competitions and for the development of the various football programs required to continue to promote our sport in the most positive fashion. FFV will fulfill the same role in both the Geelong and Sunraysia regions from 2010. We will maintain a presence in Bendigo and will continue to be represented by an Administrator who will take responsibility for managing the relationships and partnerships that are vital to our continued success. The clubs will take direct control over the implementation of the FFV strategic plan in Central Victoria. A Central Region Football Committee, comprising one representative from each club, is currently being formed and they will convene for their first meeting on February 2. Their first objective will be to finalise the operational plan for 2010. In the meantime an interim committee has been elected to oversee the critical elements of transition. Please keep visiting www.basl.org.au for updates on the progress of transition. |
